All You Need to Know About the Graphical Representation of Rs. 500 & Rs. 2000
The esteemed Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stunned the entire nation on November 8, Tuesday with an announcement that Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 notes won’t be legal tender any longer. According to the respected P.M, the decision has been taken to flush out fake and black money lurking in the financial system of India. As per the Govt. Instructions the banks will start issuing new notes with denominations of Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 from November 10, Thursday.
The Reserve Bank of India is said to have taken a decision of introducing the new design banknotes in the denomination of Rs 2000 as part of Mahatma Gandhi Series. The new denomination has a motif of the Mangalyaan on the reverse, referring to the India’s first venture in interplanetary space. Magenta is said to be the base color of the note. The new note has some other geometric pattern, design aligning with the entire color scheme both on the reverse and the observe. 66mm x 166mm is said to be the new size of the new note.

Obverse (Front)
- See-through register with denominational numeral 2000 will be seen when the note will be held against light
- Latent image with denominational numeral 2000 that will be visible when the note will be held at 45 degree angle at the eye level
- Portrait of Mahatma Gandhi in the center
- Denominational numeral 2000 in Devanagari
- Micro letters “RBI” and “2000”
- Guarantee Clause, Governor’s signature with Promise Clause and RBI emblem towards right
- Portrait of Mahatma Gandhi and electrotype (2000)watermarks
- The emblem of Ashoka Pillar on the right
- Number panel with numerals growing from small to big on the top left side and bottom ride side
Reverse ( Back)
- Year of printing on the note
- The logo of Swacch Bharat along with slogan
- Language panel towards the center
- The Motif of Mangalyan that reflects India’s first venture in the interplanetary space
For visually impaired
- Horizontal rectangle with Rs. 2000 in raised print on the right
- 7 angular bleed lines on right and left side in raised print
- Raised printing of Mahatma Gandhi portrait, Ashoka Pillar emblem bases and identification mark
The new Rs. 500 note is completely different from the present series in size,color, theme,design elements and location of security features. 63mm x 150mm is said to be the size of the new note. Stone Grey is said to be the color of the new notes. The predominant new theme is Indian heritage site – Red Fort.

Besides the common public, the bankers and industrialists have also welcomed the “move” and insisted that the temporary hiccup will not ask for any trouble. After all, this surprising step appears to be designed for bringing billions of dollars worth of cash in the unaccounted wealth into the mainstream economy.
