A Few Tips for Logo Designers
Very often, logo designers get so absorbed in their logo design job that they cannot be distracted by external factors. However, at times they get too stressed due to their long working hours, and as a result, their concentration dwindles. Earlier, most people were in the habit of complaining that the family and friends often cause a distraction. But now, it’s the Internet, particularly the social media websites that can come in the way of the designer’s complete attention. This loss of productivity ultimately leads to a situation, where the logo designer is unable to meet the project deadlines. Now, how does one manage to stay focused while creating a logo design? Let us take a look at a few ways in which logo designers can manage to stay focused.
- Make use of “stickys”: Using “stickys” is a great and easy way to remain focused. For the uninitiated, a sticky is like a note, which is also referred to often as a “post-it” note. It is just a small piece of adhesive paper that can be stuck to any object. Since it is kept at a place that is always visible, the note written on it can serve as a reminder efficiently. A logo designer can use these “stickys” to list down the tasks that he or she needs to accomplish in the order of their priority. This will help the person stay focused.
- Take short breaks: At times, a logo designer gets so engrossed in the work that he/she does not keep a track of time spent. The person might not even realize when he or she is hungry and may miss the meal. Doing the work is good, but not at the cost of your health. Just take a break. The next time you feel distracted or drowsy while working on that logo, make sure that you take a break. Have a light snack. You may also gorge on a bar of chocolate that will increase the sugar level quickly, and give you the energy you need. It is often seen that a sudden increase in the sugar levels helps a person feel more energetic, and it also revives the concentration.
- Take power naps: If you have been working on that logo endlessly, you will certainly have moments when you will feel the urge to take some time off from the work so that you can relax. This is highly recommended. Try taking a power nap, and make sure that you are not thinking of work when you go to sleep. You are certain to feel a lot refreshed when you wake up. And thus, you can concentrate much better on the job.
- Eat and drink well: It is often pointed out that the human mind is made of 80% water. So, whenever you feel that your brain has stopped working, drink plenty of water, and see the wonder it works on you! When you are working, keep a bottle of water nearby so that you can drink in short intervals. Also, consume small tit bits while you are working. You will constantly get the energy you need, and this will make you do better work.
- Exercise whenever possible: Exercise is the best way to regain the lost focus. Even some simple exercises like flexing your arms or moving your neck will help you. They will release the pressure and make you feel relaxed. Do this once in a while and see the difference.
- Listen to music: There are some people who consider music to be a distraction. But there are those whose productivity goes up by several notches if they are tuned in. Music is a great stress buster – it helps them stay relaxed and focus better.
