Logo may not be the only branding element of a company, but it’s certainly one of the key elements. Therefore, redesigning a logo is always a challenging task. A long standing logo proves the brand value of a company and helps it penetrate countries around the world. However, if a logo loses its appeal with changing time, then redesign is inevitable.

Every year we witness some successful and unsuccessful logo redesigns. Here are three famous logo redesigns of 2012. Keep reading and tell us which logo redesign you love/hate the most.

  • Windows 8 logo – We all know that Microsoft releases a new logo with every new version of Windows OS, but they always maintained the same multi color style. However, this year they broke all the norms and redesigned the logo dramatically. The new insignia flaunts sky blue color and there are no waving tiles like previous designs. The logo is designed by Paula Scher following Swiss design style.
  • Jaguar logo – This British car manufacturing giant has one of the most easily identifiable brand logo in the world. Jaguar knows this fact very well and probably, that is why they did not make any radical change with the design. The new emblem comes with a metal touch and fonts are embossed. It looks quite impressive and gives the brand a better persona.
  • Dulux – It seems that Dulux finally realized that they sell paints! This famous paint brand had a single color logo till 2011. In the new logo they added a human figure who is throwing various colors. The logo is perfectly suitable to their business and to make the message even clearer, Dulux added a catch line “Lets Color.”

What is your opinion about logo redesign? Have you noticed any other remarkable logo redesigns this year?
